ExercisAbilities Temporarily Closed due to COVID-19
Update COVIC – 19
Dear staff, clients, friends, and supporters of ExercisAbilities (EA),
It is with heavy heart that I announce that ExercisAbilities will follow the Governor’s recent Executive Emergency order 20-04 and close to clients starting 3/17 at 7AM. As hard as it is to take away the greatly needed access to rehabilitation services and therapeutic wellness to those in our community, I feel it is our responsibility to follow the guidance of the President, the Governor, the CDC, MDH and local authorities. We will close at this time. We have a busy lobby and a busy clinic gym space which makes it fun, personable, and social. However, we cannot assure that we have less than 10 people at one time in a space. In addition, the people that we serve, the children, adults, and especially the greatly impacted senior population, should follow the recommendations and stay home as much as possible. As hard as going without your therapy and exercise will be, we at EA want to be sure that we are doing our part to keep COVID-19 from spreading in our community.
As I watched all of the grateful clients come in and out today, I thought about the resilience that each of you have. You will get through this, and our staff will continue to team with you this week to contact each of you and be sure that you have a solid plan in place with your caregivers as needed to continue your work during this break. Thanks to the promised support by the government to support both our staff and business from the impact that this closure will indeed cause, we will reopen as soon as it is possible, will get you back on the schedule, and will help each of you return to meeting your goals.
To our friends and supporters, thank you for ongoing prayers and support as we also pray and hope the best for you, your family, and your businesses through this time. We will meet on the other side of this again and help lift each other up in any way that is necessary.
For staff, you will report to EA tomorrow to assist with phone calls, communications, and other work duties necessary to complete the temporary closure. I will be in at 7AM to start addressing needed activities.
Thank you for your past, current, and future support of ExercisAbilities. We will continue to update you through our Facebook page and newsletters. If you are not currently receiving newsletters, you can join our list on our website, exercisabilities.org. We have just posted our activities catalog for events and classes starting in May and running through the summer. We will continue to answer the phones at this time to begin the registration process for those activities with great hope that we will be able to have our summer classes, camps, and activities. Watch our website for online registration options.
With hopes for good health and safety,
